Igneous

'Igneous' is the geological process of molten lava cooling to form rock while also creating a document of the flux of that creative moment. It is an apt title for this exhibtion as the paintings in Igneous yield a similarly visceral experience. Paint clings to the surface of the canvas and crystallize to form a rocky mass of ridges, undulations, a crumpled and crinkled typography.
