Beth Perry

Beth Perry was born in Kyogle in 1992. In 2025, she completed a Master of Fine Art at the National Art School in Sydney.

Beth works within an expanded painting practice. She explores how processes of repetition reveal notions of time, where the accumulation of gestures allows small deviations to occur. Her meditative approach slows time down, stretching it across the surface of the canvas.

Deconstructing found textiles, Beth reduces them to elemental shapes and colours before rebuilding them into poetic outcomes. By working with what is given, she embraces constraint as a generative force, opening space for new forms to emerge. Her paintings hold a tension between logical order and the more idiosyncratic, imaginative modes that arise through the making process.

Beth’s work reimagines the grid as a site of gathering, becoming and slippage, where material and gesture intertwine to create meaning.

Beth lives and works in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
